PEOPLE...
Eric Tonnas is a Biola professor, and some friends of mine just heard him speak at Hume Lake. One of his main points was that the human being is the crown-jewel of God's creation. I tend to stand in awe and marvel at sunsets, the ocean, or the mountains, but I overlook God's most incredible creation all the time. This makes me think that I am just not getting it when it comes to people.

People bother me, get in my way, make my job difficult, and are everywhere. I love them some of the time, and want to avoid them at all costs at other times. I don't know if it is human beings or their fallen condition that I tend to dislike, but I don't want to get the two confused. I hope that we can start to change the way we look at people in our lives. If we are able to see people for what they really are, not only will life become more enjoyable for us, but I believe God will be incredibly pleased with what He sees.

COFFEE TALK
Parents: I would love to meet with you!  Time isn't something that most of us can spare, but sometimes there are things that are worth making time for. I believe that you are one of those things for me. Getting to know each other, talking about and praying for your kids, and sharing ideas about how we can walk closer with God and encourage our kids to do the same is a great use of my time (and hopefully yours).  If there is anything you would like to talk about to get to know me better, I am available. Tuesday through Friday afternoons are pretty much open for me, as are Sunday afternoons.  If you would like to meet please let me know.

HUME LAKE!
Hume Lake is back!  Last summer was an awesome experience for us as a High School group, and we can't wait to experience what God has in store for us this year. Camp this year will be from July 27th to August 2nd. We have changed our dates to try to accommodate sports and band schedule within the Poway School system.

We are starting our fundraisers early this year and hope to bring down the cost of camp to $300 per student!

FUNDRAISER!!
Our major fundraiser for Hume Lake this year was a Youth Auction. We auctioning out skills and labor that our kids and others in the church could offer, along with items donated by different companies. If you weren't able to come but wanted to support the youth, we have set up a site where you can make a donation if you would like - http://www.rbbaptist.org/youthfundraiser.htm.
